Sitka or Kuiu ?
«
on:
June 17, 2016, 03:24:37 PM »
I have purchased some Sitka gear that I really like but it is so darn expensive that I am also looking at the Kuiu gear as it has a better price point. It also looks like a very good quality product.
Thought I would ask everyone to see who has used both and what your opinions are.
Thanks in advance...

Never used Sitka before. I own a lot of Kuiu gear and absolutely love it. Ive got there Guide gear and base layers. It would be cool if Kuiu opened up a waterfowl line of clothing.

I personally now have owned both I used Sitka for 2 seasons and thought I would never ever try another piece of gear . but after the two seasons and like any other gear they get worn down and need replaced so I decided to sell my lot and I went kuiu . although I haven't used it on an actual hunt yet by the feeling and fit ill like it a lot aswell I don't think you can go wrong with either one man go with what fits your budget and youll be happy

I have multiple items from Kuiu and they are really well put together. I haven't worn Sitka gear in a couple years because the price tag became to much for me...
But, I would recommend looking into each company before you compare clothing. Sitka, Kryptek and First lite are invested in conservation where Kuiu is in it for in itself.

Check out the Jay Scott Outdoors Podcast #154 with KUIU founder Jason Hairston.
This podcast sheds excellent light on KUIU and made a recent believer out of me. Very progressive in the sales and marketing strategy and explains greatly why they are less expensive than those like Sitka that sell through big box stores. With that said I am geared up well on Sitka but after learning from this podcast will be going forward with KUIU from here on out.
