Depends on how fast your going to shoot them.  Should be going right around 3300fps.  Run some ballistic programs and find out.  Shot a few deer with the 125 Core Lok (sp) and it worked fine.  All were within 200yds.

are you talking about the 125 grain managed recoil ammunition? my little cousin used that this year for deer you definately dont want to shoot any farther than 250 yards...

150 grain is much better unless you're wanting the 125's for a reduction in recoil.

Almost all the deer I have shot with the '06 have been with 125 gr.
Nosler, Sierra and even the 130 hornady work well.

I'm not sure why anybody would want to handicap themselves with a 125 grain 30 caliber bullet, unless, like I said, it is for the lighter recoil. A 125 grain bullet in 30 caliber has a pitiful Ballistic Coefficient. For long range, and even short range shooting, you're better off with a heavier bullet with a higher B.C.  One of the biggest benefits with a higher B.C. isn't the flatter trajectory, it's less wind drift. And up close, that 125 is likely to ruin more meat than a heavier slug moving along at a lower velocity. Just my  :twocents:
