Early-season muzzleloader Whitetail

Does anybody know why they changed the early-season muzzleloader Whitetail for gmu 101 105 108 111 113 117d and 121 from any deer to any buck is this true or am I being told the wrong thing I ask because I have my 11 year old son going muzzleloader with me this year 2016 and it will be his first time hunting big game and I just want to get him used to hunting and tracking and being able to put a deer down without having to worry about how many point it has

That's the same bs I was just reading on the wdfw Web site and if anybody knows the areas up there like the 111 to 113 the 108 and 105 nose there's more days there are bucks up there that's what the whole reason I went back to shooting muzzleloader was because it was still either sex and that way my kids could just learn how to take an animal down and not have to worry about if it's got horns or not

I'm about ready to just say screw it and take my son to Idaho and paid for out of state tags I have a lot of friends that hunt over there they don't have nearly the rules or regulations or the constant crap that Washington has to deal with

I guess people on this forum are just more worried about pictures of buck and not thinking about the youth Hunters and how Washington hunting seasons keep getting shorter and the regulations keep getting more and more ridiculous where if you look at Montana's regulations or Idaho's regulations Oregon's regulations they're not nearly full of this much BS has Washington state is look up Idaho hunting season deer hunting season goes for a couple months in your tears can coincide if you buy hey archery tag you can still hunt with Muzzleloader and modern firearm during the propriate times of the year that you take Washington State Muzzleloader season October 1st to October 9th one week now I know I can not be the only person in Washington State there is willing to call this BS out for what it is

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with posting pictures of big bucks or books that have been harvested this year so far what I'm saying is that people should be more inclined to show their support with the up-and-coming youth Hunters and I would congratulate everybody that has got a buck so far this year during archery season congratulations I'm just asking for this forum to show a little more support for our youth because I don't care if I get a deer at all I'm out there to take my son out to get his first deer and to see you then Washington state does nothing besides keep trying to shut down hunting for all of Washington State and no one can say that they don't because I remember when I was younger first starting out hunting there wasn't nearly the regulations for stipulation or backdoor deals that fish and game do with all of the political crap I remember it when you could just go out by your tag go hunting drop the deer or an elk or whatever you would like those to her before and it was just nothing besides you and the thrill of the hunt Washington state has pretty much made it so hunting is no longer fun or entertaining or something you can do to feed your family that is all I'm trying to say

Well first of all, I learned how to hunt by killing a buck, so I'm pretty sure it's possible.  Secondly, it's called hunting, not killing, third of all, there are lots of rules because they are trying to manage a population, not just let open slaughter happen to whomever needs to kill something.   Granted, I don't agree half the time with their management......probably shouldn't go postal on everyone on the forum.  Good luck

X 2 WOW! You need to chill out and take it to the WDFW. Your first post was at 7:44PM and 45 mins later you are calling everyone on the forum out.

I agree that WA has some very screwy management at times that I disagree with but for the most part they do a great job. I would love to see more youth opportunities but at the same time they have to manage the population.

We have lots of great youth hunts out there, do your scouting and take advantage of it. I spend way more time hunting with kids than I do for myself anymore and just being out there with them and enjoying this great state is what it is all about. Filling their tags is a bonus!

Just because someone doesn't instantly provide you with the feedback you wanted, doesn't equate to anyone on this site not caring about youth hunters. That is a huge leap of logic and ignores the massive amount of support, advice, and guidance that so many of these members take with youth and new hunters.

This is America, and you do have free speech protected from government censorship. But this is a privately owned and operated website. Using some tact is helpful in both free speech and private applications.

Many of us scratch our heads about WDFW policies, but attacking forum members doesn't get you anywhere. I'm a pretty quiet member, I don't post much and I don't think this page or anyone on it needs me to come to their defense. But I think you are way off base here and chose not to ask for "real help" and then lashed out at the many good people who are more than happy to help new hunters. Poor form.
