Nice looking rig.

Hope you get the truck a little muddy and bloody
Thanks! It is muddy and got lots of branch love aka scratches today, it'll buff out, I hope lol. No blood, yet. Saw 4 bulls - two that I won't pass up if I get in range and 6 cows with a smaller one. Cows were super close and it was tough not to let an arrow fly. Got within 90 yards of the smallest of the bulls but another hunter spooked them out. We chatted for a bit. Turns out he never saw the bulls until they boltrd. His first year hunting elk and archery and he was just trying to find his way out of the mess. Took him to the road and sent him on his way. Good guy, no complaints here.

:yike: missed it I guess so sorry to hear. But yeah go get em. Maybe I get the clown pics now :chuckle:
Haha, I didn't even put those together either but makes sense now. Hopefully I don't run across any of those out there lol. I didn't post about the deaths, only a couple guys on here knew and they were awesome at keeping me upright. It has just been crazy lately. I keep my sanity because of this forum :) They say that things happen in threes, so I should be good after these past few weeks. Knock on wood.

In the elk past couple of days. Weak cell service, so photos are not loading up. Day by day stories to follow when I can. My eyes are on a stud bull I ran into yesterday, but I wouldn't pass on a cow either :)

Hey Jim,

I was wondering if you were out after your elk, and then saw this post.  Best of luck to you and can't wait to hear the stories.  Be safe by yourself.

Sorry photos suck. For some reason I forget all about photos when I am in pursuit haha.

Got in them again today. Quiet morning compare to the last two days. 80 degrees will do that I guess. I am still working the big boy. He is smart and won't give me a shot. Yesterday and today he would sit in the timber and have an hour conversation with me, but he won't give me a shot. I have a game plan for him tomorrow. If he is in the same routine as the last two days. I  had a raghorn about run me over but I was not ready for him at all. Couple cows are looking really temping right now but figured I would give it as much as I can the next couple days since I have the time off.

Better photos for yoy ;)

Nap time on a stump.

And St. Helens and Adams in one shot.

This one was yesterday. I just thought it was cool looking.

Oh and I did shoot a grouse yesterday at 31 yards. Aimed for the neck and hit the neck. Took a photo but not sure anyone wants to see that lol

Well my season was cut short. My one year old daughter was running a fever and my wife took her to the dr. She had a double ear infection, so they gave her antibiotics. She then had a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotics, and my wife had to take her to the ER last night, so I packed up and will call it good for now. Was a great few days and I will take it back up during late season. Will "settle" for a cow then lol. All in all, it was a great hunt and I will be back out there soon.

My daughter is good. The doctors just gave her benadryl and changed her antibiotics for her ear infections. She is in pain from the rashes all over her body, but she will be ok.

Congrats to everyone who got out and tore it up!

Family first, there is always the late season.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I came home to watch my daughters first high school volleyball game, she made varsity, played every minute, they won and my buddy tagged out this morning.  That gives me next weekend to spend at the cabin chasing cows and true spikes.

I hope you daughter keeps improving.

She is okay. Just this rash all over her body, but she is a trooper and doing better.
