I saw 3 together on opening day of rifle deer season this year in the Sawtooth. We bivied in 8 miles the day before season and could not find a deer. Saw them at about 700 yds on the move. I've got pics of their tracks. Man there tracks are big. We heard them howling at night. I called the game dept later and he was very excited about me seeing them. We saw 6 does the whole trip (3 days). What a disappointment.

Another vote for Sanpoil. Also Quartz Mt. on the McMann Creek side.

Curious what area of Sanpoil? I frequent the larger river portion up to the campground by boat very often. I'm sure you don't see wolves from a boat often, but haven't explored much more of that river.

cat-how many wolves have you seen?
It that area back then it was around 5 that was a long time ago to remember
But have friends up there that have seen more that live up there. Plus the little time I spent up there seeing that many back then which is 20yrs ago I could not even guess how many can be seen now in that area

Yeah, Just shoot em in the guts so that they run into some thick nasty *censored* and die. Nobody ever finds them, nobody ever finds out.
Watch out for the collared ones, though.
