Marlin 30-30, 336C I believe, open sights. Been my go to gun when I've been rifle hunting in the fish lake area.
Worst day hunting is better than best day working!

Win. 94 in .375 was my go to elk gun when I had to 'get down in there'. 275gr. Cast bullets from an old double mold.

Got a Winchester .25-35. My grandfather traded two chickens and a magazine subscription for it sometime in the 40s. Killed a few deer with it. Awesome gun. But these days I usually take my .300 Win!

My first rifle was a used Winchester 88 .308 with a 4x leupold. I bought it with my life savings at age 12 for $200 in 1980.
I hunted with that rifle for 20 years. I took many deer and elk. My nephew got his first deer with it.
Amazingly accurate. I have never adjusted the scope.
It has been sitting in the gun safe for several years now untouched. I plan to have it re-blued and the stock refinished.

my 1895gbl has never left me wanting in accuracy or smoothness, I will be buying the all weather 1895 this next summer though, I think its probably the best looking gun out there.

Coach, I had a pre 64 Winchester in 30-30 (dumb caliber) and I have a older Marlin 4570.  The action on the Marlin is a lot smoother.  The Marlin does not shoot the 300gr well, but is very accurate with 405gr.  I guess the new Remlin Marlins are not as smooth

Model 94 in .32 Win.  I have taken deer and elk with it.  Everytime I carry it in the field I think of my family members who hunted way back and killed a ton of animals with simple but effective gear..

I try to carry the bow, or .32 win every modern season atleast a couple days then the Boomstick comes out.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

I have a Winchester 1886 extra light rifle in 45-70 it is by far the smoothest lever action i have handled.I have or have owned 3blrs,3 mdl 94's,3 mdl 99's and a marlin 336ss in 30-30 and i shot my grandfathers model 88 in 308 all very nice guns just not as smooth as the 1886.I have a Williams FP peep sight on it and out to 150 yards i can hit a cantaloupe pretty much every time. With a steel butt plate and 45-70 ammo i don't shoot it a lot in on sitting.  P.S. not my gun but it's identical my pictures always come out terrible lol
