as a HE instructor it gives me a sense of pride seeing the new generation hunting....we are losing new hunters due to many things-peer pressure, video games, home computers, loss of hunting area etc., etc.,...makes my day seeing youngsters enjoying the outdoors...great job little man

I am a Hunter Education Instructor as well.  I would say that the biggest problem we have is loss of hunting areas.  I qualify about 40 kids a year in my high school class and along with 2 other instructors we qualify another 60 or so in classes out at the gun club.  A lot of my students don't come from hunting families and don't have a place to hunt.  They always ask me where to go.  I feel bad sending them to the same FFTH places, but I don't know what else to tell them anymore...

I guarantee that the pic of him behind the buck with that big smile will win any contest entered!! There is NO WAY he doesn't make the cover of next years huntn regs

Thanks everyone.  I will look into the Hunting Reg thing today when I get a spare moment.

Kid is ruined for life. :chuckle:   My first buck was a spike.  Like 7 inches long.  I thought for sure it was the biggest spike ever.   Um, I've killed how many bucks, some pretty good ones at that.   Never a double dropper.  8) :chuckle:
Congratulations!

Thanks everyone.  I will look into the Hunting Reg thing today when I get a spare moment.

I can't find anything on WDFW website right now regarding submitting photos for next year's regs.  If anyone sees or hears anything, please let me know and I will submit a photo.  Maybe they don't open it up until a while after the seasons close... :dunno:

I'll let him know (but I won't say anything to his 17 year old brother...) ;)

This is probably the best hunting report I've read since .................. well, ever. There are some truly amazing photos you've got there, it's great to see that much genuine excitement. Congratulations!

Very awesome.  Amazing write up.  That is what it is all about.  You and your sons will never forget that moment.  Good to see you getting out there with your kids.  Congrats to the "little man", and to you for doing it right.
