I bought a bighorn years ago and never regretted knigHt quality and durability. Other brands not so,   If I replaced it it would be for the ultra lite knight for sure and I would go with the thumbhole, and a peep. Done

They don't offer it with thumb hole stock

You are correct - but if you choose to do so you can mount it in a Knight TH stock and only gain a few ounces in weight.  I never thought I would say this but I really like shooting a TH stock so I took one of a Mountaineer and installed it on the ULite

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Great looking muzzy Sabot. Not to thread jack but I'm a little confused how you can add a thumb hole stock and only gain a few ounces? I thought all the weight savings was in the stock? Feel free to school me cause I'm still learning.

I looked at both and the UL barrel is turned down to a smaller diameter and is shorter.

Correct it is turned (contoured) down from the normal Knight.

But, also remember in both the Ulite stock and the regular TH stock the barrel is completely floated.  The barreled action rests on the cantilever recoil lug.

When it is mounted in the TH hole stock you would have a hard time telling the difference.

Here is a picture of the ULite mounted in the TH - very nice fit

And this is a picture of the different barrel contour.

Yet is does work very well in the TH
