turkey gun.

I am looking around for a new turkey gun. possibly a semi automatic 12 gauge or 20 gauge. what do u think i should get? I best be getting ready its just around the corner.

Whatever you decide on, get a short barreled version with choke tubes.....21 / 22 inch barrel.....12 or 20 gauge as both will work

if i were buying a semi-auto 12 gauge for turkeys i think i'd buy a benelli super black eagle.
if i were buying a pump gun, i think i'd buy a rem. 870, i really like the tactical turkey models, just haven't shot one with the axiom stock and not sure i'd like it.

I agree, The benelli super eagle is a sweet gun and lightwieght...pretty pricey over $1000.00 (I think) but worth the investment if you got the $.  The pump version the NOVA I believe has a noisy forearm..

MY WIFE SHOTS THE NOVA FOR TURKEY AND IT DOSE A GOOD JOB. YOU PUT A 3 AND A HALF IN AND A TURKEY CHOKE, YOU HAVE SOME RANGE AND IT ALSO KEEPS A GOOD PATTERN. SHE DOSEN'T SHOT THE 3.5 BUT I DO. FOR THE MONEY YOU CAN'T BEAT IT

how much do the mossbergs run for??

Model 835 can run anywhere from $350 -550
Model 935 auto can run $550-750
Model 500 several variations have choke models $300 -450

You can find deals if you look around..I like the 835/ 935 they contain 10 gauge barrels overbored to 12 gauge..tough and durable. 

Hooked on Toys or High Mountain may have them..

Always wanted a "TURKEY" only shotgun but never have made it happen.  Ive looked into it, The benelli M1 offers a pistol grip attachment.  I think if I bought a Benelli, it would be the M1 rather than the SBE.  Yelp has the old squeeky wheels turning in my head with the mossberg talk. 

Yelp, is the pistol grip as awesome as Ive always dreamed it would be?  When sitting for hours on end on various trees Ive often dreamed about a pistol grip stock.  It seems so stable when sitting on your ass balancing the gun on your knee.

I have two 835's I like both. One has the 24" barrel and is all camo the other has the 28" barrel. One for turkeys the other for geese.

Hornhunter...Don't own one of the pistol grip models those are relatively new.  The upper pic is of the Tactical turkey model 835 pump.  The bottom pic is of the new 935 pistol grip that just came out this year.  I hope to own one some day...and I thought of the same thing great balance while sitting...I am going to order one and retro it to one of my older 835's and try it out...

SWEET!  The M1 is my dream set up. Those Mossbergs are the right price for a gun you use for only 6 weeks a year.
