Harlequin guide?
« on: October 31, 2016, 09:47:29 PM »
I've shot about every species of waterfowl there is in WA/OR except for a Harlequin.  Does anybody know of a GOOD guide that does Harlequin/Sea duck hunts.  Any info would be appreciated, especially if you've hunted with them first hand.  I'm dying to put one on the wall this yr.  Thanks fellas.
Shoot the boy ducks!

Peninsula Sportsman out of Port Townsend guides for blue ducks and other sea ducks.  I don't know if they will guide anyone in state, but it is worth checking out.  Other than that, I think the others are all out of business.  Low daily bag limits and guiding in state clients on public waters took it's toll on them.  Bring out guys and the next time you head out, they are set up in the spot you took them with another group of guys.  A paid consultant for the first round and screwed afterwards if they are instate guys.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I can see how that might/would happen especially hunting public water/access.

H20, what past guides are you referencing when you say "Low daily bag limits and guiding in state clients on public waters took it's toll on them." ?

Just guessing that what he was talking about was that the state dropped the limits on Scotes from 4 to 2, and cut back the Goldeneye limits to 2 as well that and having a 1 a year limit on Harli's it makes guiding for the guys who want to shoot a ton of birds tough. My 0.02...
