That is very healthy hoof, aside from its length. Definitely not hoof rot.An animal that is lame/injured cannot wear its hooves properly, so they keep growing. Not sure about elk, but horses grow about 4 inches of hoof a year - they either need trims every 6-8 weeks or walking/running up to 50 miles per day, as they would in the wild, to naturally wear the hoof down.

WTF... don't you guy's read posts before posting. Besides, spraying doesn't do a damn thing to animal's hooves. I work for a pesticide company and if that were true hoof rot would have shown up on the palouse long before a one time spray job on a clearcut.
