Roosevelt is my go-to fishery.  Fished it yesterday.  Plenty of Rainbows but no Kokes....although it was an awesome year for Kokes.

No kidding. I can't remember the exact name, but I believe they contracted some sort of parasite during last winter and basically killed them all. That was the bloodstock strain for many of the lakes in the state and was considered the best. The fish never surfaced nor were any found along the shores. Apparently the disease caused them to sink.

Bearmanric, that there is the perfect Kokanee!!

I have caught a few 20 inchers out of Alder but large kokes are few and far between. Most are around 12" range.
The Silvers in Riffe get pretty portly between 1 and 2 pounds are about average. Both Alder and Riffe are good for limits of fish. And Alder has a 10 Koke daily limit.

I have only fished Merwin once and we pulled two limits of 14 - 20 in fish and one 22 inch fatty.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

I've got some pictures somewhere. We used to slay those suckers in Roosevelt.

Biggest I remember was right around 25" and built about like that chubby one already posted. Soft mouthed Devils for sure but easy enough to get used to and net.

Roosevelt just has big fish period. My biggest rainbow, biggest walleye and biggest Kokanee are all from Roosevelt. Also my biggest lake sturgeon  :chuckle:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
