Bear authority ready to hunt package
« on: February 12, 2017, 08:10:36 PM »
I'm thinking about getting a new bow. I found a new factory packaged bear authority ready to hunt package for 265.00. Anybody have any opinions? Gonna use it for hunting deer and elk.

That's a crazy price!  Think they were suppose to be $499.

It really is a great shooting bow if your draw length is 29" or less.  The Ready to Hunt packages are very basic/nothing special packages.  But heck - who cares at $265!!

Probably a better bow than I had for my first 20 years of bowhunting.  And I tagged a lot of animals during that time.

Ok now how do I talk the wife into allowing the purchase when we have a baby due in May?  :chuckle:

Well I think I can pull it off.  Specially when I just for hundred dollars for a car seat that's only in the last two years. I think she'll be OK with it but if not might be one of those times where you asked for forgiveness Rather than permission 👍

You cant/won't talk her into it. I'd beg for forgiveness when she found you bought it.

Well, pulled the trigger. The wife even approved. So it's a done deal. She is the best. I'm excited for a new bow to shoot. Should get it in a week or so :chuckle:

Did you see this on eBay? I got a friend of mine at work who's looking to get into bowhunting but like you, is short on cash and just had a kid. I was going to suggest something used to him to save him a bit but this is a good price!

Yes it was on eBay. Through an archery shop in Georgia. He still had some left when I got mine. I just got it today, everything seems to be legit with it. I am gonna get it sighted in asap.

Hi OP and all. My very first post here on WH. I got the exact same bow from the exact same place about 3 weeks ago. Even though I am brand new to archery and hunting so far I like this bow. Thinking about replacing my quiver and the strap but other than that I plan to practice my butt off with it until the season starts. Question did your quiver come without the form insert for the broadheads?

If it's a Trophy Ridge quiver that Bear puts with the R2H package I believe that has two arrow gripers (5 Spot quiver).  In that case it is a hollow hood with no foam.
