Please Support WA HB 1725 - No Transfer Req'd for CPL Holders
« on: February 18, 2017, 01:36:02 PM »
Please look into this bill.  It would allow CPL holders to transfer firearms between one another with out the additional burden of yet another background check.  This really is common sense.  I hope people looking for common sense gun legislation can see this...

I fully support this bill and I am glad to see this bipartisan effort to restore some common sense to private firearm transactions.

I know it's really just a small grant of our previous I594 liberties granted back, but this is a good start.

This would be a great compromise to I594.

I wrote to my liberal leaders that this was truly "common sense" and if they'd ever supported common sense gun legislation, this HAD to be something they would support.  That the only reason to require multiple background checks was to systematically impede people's ability to utilize their second amendment right.

Hopefully it makes sense to them, but I'm not sure that we see common sense the same way.

Makes too much sense, there for can not be allowed. Besides then there would be no paper trail to track the evil guns.

First I wanna say this seems like a very good thing, but on the same note will be very shocked if anything changes, laws are very hard to change, revise, ect. After they have been in effect.Has anybody even been prosecuted for breaking i594,ffl holders that make money off of transfers won't support it,I hate safety belt laws but there not going away,we have so many laws there's no meaning to the word freedom anymore. :twocents:
GOODLUCK WITH it though.

I agree that it won't get signed by Inslee if it does make it through the house and senate. All the republicans can do when they are outnumbered is to bring common sense bills up for votes and let the voters know how their legislators voted in hopes of getting better legislators elected next election cycle.

There are 2 Democrats sponsoring this bill:

http://leg.wa.gov/house/representatives/pages/default.aspx#blake
http://leg.wa.gov/house/representatives/pages/default.aspx#chapman

Gives me some level of hope that everyone isn’t blindly stuck on one side or the other.  There is room for common ground and common sense.

I was actually just curious why you wouldn't get a CPL otherwise?

Liberals don't like acknowledging that some groups are more responsible with guns than others.

A CPL exemption undermines their narrative that the guns are the problem and not the people.

It's much harder to argue that product X should be completely banned from the public when group y can use it without any problems.

You would think that liberals would welcome something to take the pressure off the backed-up background check system in this state so they can disqualify more people from exercising their rights.
"Restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens based on the actions of criminals and madmen will have no positive effect on the future acts of criminals and madmen. It will only serve to reduce individual rights and the very security of our republic." - Pianoman https://linktr.ee/johnlwallace https://valoaneducator.tv/johnwallace-2014743
