Selkirk BC
« on: March 31, 2017, 08:04:13 AM »
Any news on the BC Selkirk cull this year?  They are helping with our wolf problem and need our support.  They have more than 200,000 negative hits on the cull that is a multi-year program.

I have not heard much about it lately.  They don't talk about the plans until it's done because people block the helipad and disrupt the work

My thumbs up is not for the article but the news shooting them from heli is the most humane and safe method. Fire in the hole!

Geez no kidding.... Talk about taking things out of context.  The headline should mention some of the other things GS the scientists said

Funny how an animal can suddenly be endangered just by stepping across a line in the woods.  The ESA is the biggest farce in modern wildlife management.   :bash:

??  They are not protected by the ESA in either state in the Selkirks.

They are still protected by state law in WA.

I know that.  I said ESA, but was simply referring to the whole protected/endangered thing.  You don't find Washington's  Wolf plan outrageous at all do you?   :yike:

I didn't say that I liked WA wolf plan.  I spent a lot of time arguing for a better plan and it didn't happen.  I also don't like that WA won't remove wolves from the Caribou recovery area.  I have tried to make that happen but it's not in the cards just yet.

I've always thought it sadly ironic about the wolves and Caribou.  I found a Caribou shed this year while elk hunting.
