What is a "multi deer" in Montana?  If you get the deer combo license, you can hunt the archery season and the general season.  No "multi" required.
Of course, there are special permits for a lot of units in Montana, but that's a whole different game!

Just saw on Facebook that they started the elk and deer permit drawing Monday and had to start over due to unforeseen error. Says permits should be available by the end of the week.

The unforeseen error was me actually drawing. The officials saw it and knew something was fishy so they decided to redraw.

Mine said that at 3 different times so until everything says final I wouldn't assume anything quite yet.

o you applied for a deer "tag" and got it, but also applied for the Big Game Combo, and didn't get it?  What is the deer "tag"?  Drawings are for "combo licenses" or "permits".

All long week long it said I was unsuccessful for the Big Game Combo. Now it says I drew an elk permit.  :dunno:  Hopefully this stays. I think they just got tired of me checking every 5 minutes.  :chuckle:

I thought that if you didn't draw the combo LICENSE, you would not be in the permit drawing.  You can't hunt on a permit without a license.  What is that state doing?

When you draw a special permit, that is the only unit you can hunt so they send you special permit and you do not have a general elk tag  :twocents:

Just when you think you understand their system. I've hunted deer 12+ times in MT. This would be my first elk hunt & I'd be ok with only hunting this one area.  :chuckle:
