BUTT report
« on: May 05, 2017, 09:09:44 AM »
Fished the straights yesterday. I would say it was very slow there was about 70+ boats around us and we only saw 3 other fish caught. We managed to get our 2 I think we were lucky to get them based on what we saw and heard on the radio. One was 20# and the other was 50# the water and weather were perfect. The fish checker said the tribes had been out long lining Monday and Tuesday maybe just a coincidence on the lack of fish???

Launched out of Cornet bay 0530, foggy as hell all morning. Anchored by 0630 and only had 6 boats within a mile of me (radar picture) so not a lot out fishing the banks from what I saw. I was solo and had a 35lber in the boat by 0930.

Fished Admiralty, nary a bite.  Checker at the dock saw one fish out of 50+ boats.

We fished the straits and into the ocean from about 630 until getting back at about 630. We landed 2 halibut. Very, very few bites. We caught 6 ling and 3 seabass. The bro in law and a bunch are back at it in the morning!
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

Nice!  Care to share a location by PM? I'm taking some other HuntWa'ers out on the 11th.  I was hoping to go out tomorrow, but not enough gas on hand so it will be shrimping and lings instead.
