Thurs Hali?
« on: May 22, 2017, 10:40:32 AM »
Anyone going?  I might be able to get off of work but don't know if it is worth it on the inside.

If I do, I might have an open seat.

Wrestling with weather to go or not. Tides not the best so I don't know if it is worth the boat gas. Probably won't make a decision till night before.   :dunno:

We made a quick run out to Neah Bay yesterday. Took a friend that wanted to go. Fish are tiny this year. We came in with 20 lb fish. Most of what I saw if any were 8-10. Did see one  around 75. If the inside is anything like it is out there, I'd say save the gas. Did have some really nice lings though.

Wife and I ran out to one of the inside banks yesterday and pulled a 45lb. Our 2nd for the season.  Very foggy and surprisingly rough.  We had the fish in the boat by 0805, pulled anchor and were back in Cornet Bay by 0915.  100lber was brought to CB yesterday.  Over all I think it has been very slow.  Fish counter has not been recording any big numbers.

Port Angeles weather was great but the fishing blew, nothing but dogfish and sculpons.  Never saw anyboats around us pulling in butts. Worst hali season in 5 years for us.

Tried to get out but added a launch to the list of places that won't work at minus tides.  Looked like perfect weather, I was bummed but that is the price you pay to learn new areas.

I've got nothing to show for two solid days at Mutiny. Seems slower than normal this year.
There is not enough wilderness left in the world, or in the hearts of men.
