Inexpensive tent
« on: June 19, 2017, 04:11:44 PM »
I was lucky enough to draw an archery elk tag this season and I am excited. Turns out that my old man also drew an elk tag but in a difffent unit. Our (my) plan is for him to take our trailer with him and me to camp. I have multiple tents but they are a smaller one as well as an ultralight set up. Being that I can drive to where I will be camping, I am looking into buying a bigger tent just for this hunt. Any suggestions on one that won't break the bank but that I can stand in, put my cot in etc?

When is your hunt? I have a two room tent that might fit that bill I would be happy for you to borrow if we could arrange a meet up. I still owe you one.

Sept 9-21 but not exactly sure when the exact dates I will be there. That would for sure be an option if you were up for it.

My good friend has a 10x10 alaknak that is in perfect shape, probably been used 2 times maybe.  he was talking about maybe selling it for 400 yesterday, they are 600 new at cabelas I believe. His is an older model which is better than the new one out, thicker fabric and his has a stove jack.

Those all look good. Little more than I want to spend for a week of camping but will consider them all for sure!

Coleman instant cabin. I have the 10x14. Easy set up and works great in most all seasons. Have had it for about 5 years no issues.

have you checked Big5?  Can usually find some knock off brand of the tent you like for a much lower price.

Sent you a pm, Adam.

I used a Coleman Weather master 12x17 for about 5 years. They have tons of room.
I really liked it until the zippers on both sides broke during deer camp.
It was way to expensive to have them fixed.

Your units are side by side, park the trailer in the middle and drive an extra 30 minutes to hunt to spend time with your dad at night.

That is being considered but for now thinking I will just buzz over every few days to hang out mid day or something
