My Suzuki DF70 needs some TLC - anyone know a good mechanic in the Everett area?

I use Tom n Jerrys in Anacortes but don't know if they work on Suzuki.  One of my neighbors uses the place in Mount Vernon next to I-5, they sell Suzukis.

Is it carbureted or fuel injected? What is the problem?  If carbureted, it is often not too hard to remove and clean them out. I just did this on a 1996 Honda 50 for my parents, the jets were blocked from leaving fuel in it for two years w/o running it.

I'm a marine adjuster, the only shop around that does Suzie's in WA is Performance Marine in Everett, Spokane Valley Marine, and I believe Valley Sports in Renton.

Its fuel injected.  It runs fine until the throttle is advanced beyond half way, then it starts missing and sometimes dies.  Like it runs out of gas.  Pull the throttle back or restart and it goes back to running fine.  Been through the usual suspects, tried different gas tanks, fuel lines, and changed the injectors, made sure it has fresh gas free of water …

Maybe it’s the one of the fuel pumps, or some sensor.  I don’t have the equipment to read the fault codes.

I’ll give Performance Marine a call when they open.  If they can’t take it I’ll try the place in Mount Vernon.

Thanks for the tips.

Good luck.  Sorry I can't help with fuel injection issues.  I've been thinking of trying to find some kind of training classes for outboard repair.

Called everyone within 100 miles.  Same story, 2 to 3 week wait or worse.  Looks like I'm fixing this myself or missing Chinook season.

or I'm putting around at half throttle.

Similar problem on my 25 once. Ended up being the diaphragm on the carburetor was week and couldn't keep up with the higher rpm's. Mine has 4 screws holding the cover. Might be an easy fix for you or you at least eliminate that scenario.

I found a partly pinched fuel line to the low pressure fuel pump.  Hopefully that's the problem.  I rerouted that line and checked the pump.  All looks well.

I need a sea trial to tell for sure.  It always ran fine on the hose.

Well that fixed it.  Mostly anyway, still a bit of a high speed miss.  At least now it gets to high speed.  I'll change all the fuel lines, they are pretty soft.  I think I just saved myself a few hundred $$$

I've had even the newer ethanol safe fuel lines go bad after a while.
