elk tags changing weapon types

This has probably been discussed before, but I can't  find any thing on this, so can you change your tag before the season begins ?

If you applied for special permits, then no.  If you didn't, you can change your tag (unless something changed in the last year or so).

Bump for more info.

I tried to swap my tag tonight at Sportsman’s but was told I couldn’t, even though I did exactly that last year at the very same store…

And those links listed above come up as “Page Not Found.”

I didn’t apply for any permits

They will have to call department and confirm you forfeited your tag u originally purchased then they can , you probably got someone who just didn’t know
