Dodge interiors have come a long way in the 4th Gen models.
I still think GM and then Ford have more comfortable seats.

My 06 Dodge seats leave a ton to be desired.

I've rebuilt the seats in my 03 &05 purchased new Foam from a dealership online for about a C note each. Imo the key lies in 2 things. You need a piece of thin rubber belting or something like it to ride on top of the wires to prevent them from chewing into the foam.
Second when you need a file and ball Pien Hammer to round the sharp wedges and such on the Bucket portion of the frame. This really helps prevent the breakdown of the seat.

Lastly I like a cushion to drop into the lowest part of the Bucket seat because it pinches my sciatic nerves on my hips on long drives, even after the rebuild.

Had an 05, now an 06.  I don't have a problem with interiors but did prefer 05 over angular 06.  Seat breaks down on edge getting in and out which sucks.  My 05 had aftermarket leather and such and was comfy.  More so than stock 06 seat.  I have a friend who has upholstery business and will have him do interior in the future with mods!  For Dodge guys--what clutches are you running?  Stock still or single or double disk minus dual mass flywheel??  Mine will slip on new truck if I turn up tunes so upgrade is in the future..  400+hp and towing/driving.??

I tore the cloth out of my 06 and put aftermarket leather in with seat heaters. Now I need need foam on the driver, it isn't terrible but wearing. Thanks for tips I'll have to give them a try.

Geez we got 3 suburbans with 200,000 miles on em with nary a hiccup...... dunno what that works out to in (iths) of millions, but I'm guessing a guy could rebuild a few 6 liter Chevrolets for "1" diesel of any flavor....

6L Chevy is ok but, pulling a 24' trailer with one to Montana and back 6 times doing 45mph up all the passes kinda sucked and at 45mph keeping it humming at a pretty high rpm kinda makes a guy weary in the summertime. My 7.3L PSD turning 2400rpm doesn't even feel like its working hard pulling the same trailer and engine temps never budge. Not to mention F-350 brakes kick ass over Chevy and Dodge. Chevy brakes suck bad

Not to hijack this thread but we all might only have diesel rigs in 2040 as the US seams to be a follower on these movements.  UK is planning on banning all gas cars by 2040.

I'll would be 72 in 2040 if I live that long, gas engines aren't going away in my lifetime. I'm no engineer, but common sense tells me that gas engines will be here as long as the black stuff keeps coming from the earth.

Interesting, I've got a 7.3 F-350 and a Dodge 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. In my experience the dodge will out-pull and stop faster and get better mileage than the ford with the exact same loaded trailer. But the weight of the Ford makes it more solid going down the road and it is a more comfortable ride to me. I see pluses and minuses in both rigs.

   My 01 did keep cooler on long pulls up hill.  Ride was better towing but it was a longbed.  The bigger turbo on 7.3 moves a lot of air at lower boost #'s.  Now both my 5.9 out power and pull the old ford by a large amount.  Granted the engine is few years newer and rated higher hp.  I really liked the 01 f350 7.3, if it was a stick shaker I might still have it.  The new cummins (2006) is a manual and I am in love.  After clutch upgrade and EFI tune I will be set for long time to come.  NO more auto trans for this guy .

That's one thing I wish I could change with my 06 Cummins, is the fan. Someone needs to write a tune for cooling fan speed adjustment.  With the heat exchanger on the side of the block and engine temps climbing it can really heat up the trans fluid on the auto's.  As soon  as that fan clutch locks the engine temp plummets, but the trans temp can take a while to drop, even with the TC clutch locked up.  Sucks when pulling steep and slow.  Should have bought a manual
