There are a ton of books and videos on trapping available. Trouble is very few are geared towards cage trapping which is what you will be doing in WA. If you buy a book or video make sure it is about cage trapping. Would not hurt to do a search on youtube with cage trapping. A lot of duds on there but anything by cagingbobcats, or Kirk DeKalb would be good. Also saw some stuff by wolfernation worth watching.
Best way though is come to our Rendezvous. Some very good demos to be seen and you can take the Trapper Ed class while you are there. We run a bunch of demos just for the Trapper Ed students so great for a beginner. Plus you can look at traps, ask questions and buy some trapping equipment if you decide this is for you.
If not, dinner is free and you can help us drink the iced beer that goes at the beginning of the auction.
If you are contemplating trapping for the supper table I would concentrate on looking at beaver, muskrat, raccoon, bobcat, maybe nutria.
