New sight that is WA Legal?

Was surfing around and found this.

I called and talked to the company and seems like it is indeed wa legal according to them. I reviewed the rules with them and this sight has no glass it's all plastic. Has fiber optic or tritium "depending on the model you get".

It does not magnify any part of the target just the cross hairs them selves. The rules say no telescopic sight so that's the only thing that makes me wonder, yet the target is not magnified.

I have had the opportunity to use one of these on a shotgun. I would say they arnt that much better than fiber optics. The real up side is on a defensive shot gun or a longer barrel that has no pin to get hung up on stuff.

YES I talked to them on the phone myself and they said WA legal.

So even though they said they are im still not 100% hopefully bigtex or someone else might know for sure.

They don't use batteries or magnify so I can't see why not.

They do magnify there own crosshairs? So I don't know if that falls under the telescopic sight rule.

If it meets all the following requirements it should be legal in Washington:

"(b) Sights must be open, peep, or of other open sight design. Fiber optic sights are legal. Telescopic sights or sights containing glass are prohibited."

Yeah I'm not sure. I personally shoot reflex type sights way better then standard irons. So I like the idea of their aiming points and if a guy gets the tritium model then in dark timber or low light I can see it having a advantage over just plain stock type fiber optics.

It contains glass and personally I would say it was illegal.  But I'm not interested in "interpretations" of what he law says....pretty much black and white and I don't push limits on what is not allowed.

It does not contain glass only plastic and fiber optic. No glass

I spoke to my local warden yesterday and he said he looked into them and did not see anything that would make him say that they were not legal to use.

I wouldn't risk it. They might be legal, but do you want to spend the money on a lawyer if a WDFW enforcement officer and prosecutor disagree with the manufacturer on interpretation of the law?

From what I see it looks like it would be legal. I have met several game wardens over the years and they seemed to be good honest people. I really don't think a warden would ticket a guy for using this sight unless there is something about it they can cite as illegal in the law?

I talked with the company, muzzleloads.com guys and my local warden all say good to go. I'm going to see how it does.

Curious to see how raindrops affect sight the picture.

I wondered that to cause it rains and snows during the late muzzy hunt often. I saw a you tube video that said it has curved plastic so the water tends to run off it pretty good. I'll give it a go when I get a rain and it's not to dry out and see what I can do with it.

95 might be s little steep but when a guy spends 300-1500 on a rifle scope 95 on a muzzleloader sight don't seem to bad lol. I got mine with bonus ebay bucks so net cost was 85.

One of my thoughts on this as most us smoke pole people know. A front bead at 100 plus on a deer pretty much covers the whole vitals.

With this sight " I got the delta point model" you don't really have to cover anything up but rather set the tip of the triangle on the target. So I am curious to play with this as well. I am not a super long range guy with a smoke pole. 140ish yards is as long as I have ever shot a critter with mine.

You are certainly correct - it really does cover a lot! but if you use a 6:00 hold the problem diminishes a lot.  With the Williams peep and the fiber front sight - this is the sight picture I use with the target sitting on top of the blade.

For sure. I use the 6 hold for shooting most of my handguns. I have really tried it with the long gun but I tend to pull shots high when I do it. I am not a great open sight shooter by any means. I think this sight basically is incurring the 6 hold and giving the tip of the triangle as a reference. So I am hoping that might keep me from pulling shots high.

I shoot a peep for that reason but have never been a fan of the narrow sight picture and they are always so dark to me. So hoping this might help me shrink my groups some.

I will share a couple of thoughts on this - in low light and while using a Williams Peep - I just remove the peep aperture and use the ring of the peep as a 'Ghost Ring' + during hunting season I use a .093 aperture. But they do make a .150 also which allows much more light and picture

They also make a 'Twilight' aperture that has a brass ring in the aperture to reflect more light.

You know what - that gives me and ideal - I might try heating a rod and inserting it in around the cup like the twilight version... I wonder if that might work?

sweet I got mine and mounted it on my 50 cal pistol. Going to play with it on there before I start taking apart my rifle sights.
