500 yard range in Snohomish County
« on: August 14, 2017, 11:06:28 PM »
1) Why isn't there a range longer than 300 yards in North King/Southern Snohomish Counties.

2) How does the Kenmore gun range charge 330 bucks for a membership when the only have a 300 yard range?

3) Where do you guys go to practice your long range shooting within reasonable driving distance, not looking to drive way down to Puyallup/Eatonville.

My guess is cost in owning land to run a long distance gun range. Not sure if you have been up to Plantation but it is a nice range. unless you drive out to the mountains off a logging road you won't locate 300+ yards that I am aware of in Sno Co. Plantation is a drive but worth it for those rest assured shots.

After sitting through a bunch of the drama over the snoqualmie rifle range, I can vouch for the fact that it's a giant Pain in the rear to keep a range up and running.
Kenmore has 100 and 300 yard rifle, flat archery range, Olympic archery, walk through bag target courses, trap and 5 stand and maybe more for $330. Its not just a rifle range. Go out highway 2 to some national forest land and find a place to shoot long.

I live about 20 minutes from the Plantation. It is a pretty good range, but 300 yards are their longest targets. It can get really busy especially this time of year. Would recommend avoiding the weekends if possible.

Seattle rifle and pistol has a 500 yards range. But it can only be used during certain times.

Pretty much.  But I  think you can shoot there if you are with a member.
