Snohomish/Skykomish pinks?

Anybody fished pinks in Snohomish or Skykomish rivers? Any luck?

One of my security officers was up at Douglas Bar on Wednesday night and caught a couple, saw a few.  Said they rolled more in the evening.   

Gonna be short and sweet for the pinks this year.   
 
Doubt the coho will be much better as far as the rivers go?   

Best to get to the salt if you have the ability.  Fortunately my co-worker is on the salt every weekend so I know I'll get my share

So I went to Snohomish the day after I posted it. Saw a lot of them jumping, had one hook up, but the knot broke so I lost it. It's not as good as 2 years ago, but there's good amount of fish in there.

We fished last night just to kill some time, 2 fish in the box, lost one at the net and another shortly after hookup, Dick Nites were the ticket. 4-5' leader, 1/2 oz cannon ball on an 8" dropper, super slow retrieve. One of our fish was while trolling. If you haven't tried it in the snoho, I would strongly suggest trying it. Same set up as casting them, just throw it out behind the boat and troll the tide water. A lot of times this will hands down out produce anchoring and casting jigs or Dick Nites, plus the bite on the troll is way more fun IMO. Good luck guys!

I've done it in the snoho and the sky.  Works great.  Spin and glow tipped with shrimp.  Plunked or on a diver.  If it gets really good, I may take my kids up and let them catch a bunch of slimy humpies!

Nice...ive got an 18 ft north river with a prop. Think i can get far enough up?

If you play the tide, you can easily get to Thomas's Eddy, but that's about it. There's great spots to fish between Snohomish and there though. Give me a call and we can talk about it, I grew up on that stretch of water.

I'll have to give this a try.  Do you troll into or with the current?

Depends on how hard the current is pushing. On an incoming I usually try to go against the current as it doesn't push as hard as the outgoing does, but don't be affraid to turn around and troll with the tide. On the outgoing I troll against it for the first hour or so, basically until I quit gaining ground, then will switch and go downstream. If I feel like I'm going too fast I will anchor up and cast at that point. The most important part is your speed to water, you only want to be moving enough to get the Dick Nite to wiggle. It is usually, at least on boats I have fished, only an idle on the kicker motor.

I’ve been as far of Douglas bar with a prop but with an 18 foot and a prop that I don’t want to ding up I wouldn’t go any farther than the railroad bridge in Snohomish.
