The stocks are what they are ! I've never worried about scratching or dinging a rifle it's a tool .
But with the larger calibers they have a kick and if you put a quality stock on like a B/C stock it calms it down a lot and you will find that your very impressive shot groups will even get better!  :twocents:

I suspect that most Tikka owners trying to sell are just looking to upgrade to a Savage.   8)

On a more serious note, the guys I know that have them have never complained.
seems like a lot of it is trying to cash out and try the "next big thing".  i remember when savage and tikka were the budget rifle...the manufacturers seemed to notice and ratchet up the price(when was the last time you could get a new savage 110 for 300 bucks?).  now it's the ruger RAR.

i do also notice everyone trying to sell their magnum calibers.  bravado aside, i wouldn't want a .300 or 338 win in a 6 1/2lb rifle either.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

From reading people have tried the 300WSSM. Best I can gather is its not any better than a 308. Interesting either way though.

Wow the 300wssm is a real thing I guess. Just looked it up. I was just figuring it was a typo and I was joking around. Guess it's a real round.

Yep, I thought the same until I looked it up. I'm still curious if he actually has the 300wssm.

While there are .223, .243, and a .25 caliber Winchester Super Short Magnums, I don't think there is a 30 caliber WSSM.  At least not yet.  I may be mistaken, but I couldn't find any info on a 30 cal.

Yeah, it's surely not a factory cartridge. Would have to be a wildcat. I'm pretty sure campmeat meant to say WSM.

I have a Tikka 300 mag and it kicks harder than my old Ruger 338 which was a heavy gun so I had to get a recoil pad because it will jump out of your hand sometimes. Overall it's a great gun but shoot the big caliber first before you buy

Not bad guns and shoot suprisingly well off the shelf. But still a gun that was made for the budget minded. Horrible plastic trigger among other cheap parts. I think most that bought them are stepping up. The guys that buy the really cheap Savages or Rugers are not for the most part the guys that would have bought Tikkas in the fist place.
