2017 Moose and Goat Success
« on: October 05, 2017, 10:09:06 AM »
2017 has been an alright year so far...   :dunno: :chuckle: I was able to harvest a 10" goat in Northern BC in the end of August and my dad just filled his OIL tag on his moose here in WA Monday afternoon.  And a few more critters.  My WA spring bear and Montana bull.  C'mon deer season!

Wow!  What a year!  You should  probably retire from hunting, because it's all downhill from here.  😀

What unit was your dad's moose?

Haha, probably.  And 49 north, early.  He's been putting in for 40 years.  Was at the very first moose drawing in WA when they did it out of the barrel with cards.  He just turned 70 this year. Was due.

Solid work to you and your dad, Jon. Hoping to be able to hang my tag on a goat close to that caliber.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words fellas!  The goat was something that meant a lot to me.  My dad's favorite animal to hunt; always wanted to share that hunt together but it just hasn't been in the cards.  Finally got a chance to go, and ended up shooting it on his 70th birthday.  Then we got to share his moose hunt together.

Very happy for your dad to draw a moose tag after all those years applying & to kill a monster!! All the critters you got this year were great trophies.

I'd hate to have your taxidermist bill this year!! Thank you for sharing.
