Fish&Fur, that is a funny (not funny, buy you know what I mean) story.  I would have loved to see them sprint at ground level.  I can't even imagine!

(No bench legs down your way, right??)

They're only benchlegs if they're big, and somebody else gets 'em.   Seeing something new in the woods is always a treat.  I wonder though, how many times has that happened when I wasn't aware of it.  :dunno:  Probably many.

The last couple days this guy has taken to hanging out in areas that doe herds feed in.  I'm pretty sure he is the one I gave a pass to on the second week of Archery Season last year.  He would make a nice trophy, but he doesn't have a lot of width and his forks are not at all deep.

My cousin in Port Angeles had a big swollen up 4 point pushing a doe down her street and through the neighborhood yards Wednesday.

Nice shot 98520!  What's your story?  You or one of your family and friends should be starting to notch tags this weekend, right?

Coast range bucks are swelled up and chasing the does. Should see some big boys dropping real soon.

Son tagged a 2 pt yesterday morning in the middle of that down pour.  First chance he had to get out. The buck was not with does, nor neck swollen.  Bucks have been rubbing for over 50 days now.  No sign of the rut yet where we hunt.  Bucks are ready, but haven't seen any chasing of does in heat.  Deer did not come out of last winter in good shape.  Does will probably come into heat later this fall.  Lowland does, where the winter wasn't as bad may come into heat earlier.  Have seen one buck down low with a swollen neck.  Usually the rut has started by now.

My son just missed one that had tried to mount the doe he was with. Unfortunately, when he was at 20 yards, she was in the way behind him. Then, he moved to the side and I misjudged the distance so my son shot just over him with the crossbow. :-(

Grunted in a masher 3x3 for a friend this morning, the buck came out of the reprod facing away from us, grunting back. Buddy did not give me time to grunt at him, to turn him around. He whistled, that buck ran like a bat out of hell. I looked at him and said REALLY, when is the last time you heard a buck whistle. Called in a dink 2pt he was not interested in shooting.

Went out yesterday from dawn till dusk. Covered a lot of ground. Only saw a few does and 1 buck. Also found that I had a camera stolen on private property. Not a great day for me :'(
