Does anyone have any experience with these crazy things, they look like they work great on their website?

I have been messing around with them the last few days.  I can only shoot out to 30 yds in my back yard but they seem to fly really well.  Haven't shot a broadhead with them yet but from what I have read that is where they really shine.

I have been shooting 3 FOBbed arrows and 3 arrows with 2 inch blazers.  The Blazers fly awesome also and group really tight.  Bummer with the FOBs is you can't shoot groups.  Even though I knew that I aimed at the same spot once and broke one.    :chuckle:

I shot them over my chrono at point blank and got the same reading as the Blazers.  I am going to shoot them over the chrono out at differant ranges and see what kind of readings I get.

They do make a little more noise but from what I have read the noise isn't noticable on the receiving end as it is coming from the back of the arrow.  I haven't verified that though.  :)

Hey Lowedog, verifying the noise on the receiving end sounds sort of dangerous.  :chuckle:

Ive heard good and bad things about them, I think they are kind of like blazers were in the beginning, nobody (myself included) thought you could get good flight from a tiny 2" vein, people just have to shoot-em themselves to find out. I plan on trying them just to see how they work..

Ni kidding!  :chuckle:  I don't trust any of my friends enough to try it either!  :chuckle:

There are a bunch of videos on youtube about these things.  Some where guys set their camera up down range and on those I couldn't tell the differance between the FOBs and Blazers.

I'm going to do some downrange shooting this weekend and see if they lose a bunch of speed.  It has been said that  past 40 yards they really drop off comapared to Blazers.  I'll shoot some broadheads  too and compare that against the Blazers.

It looks like a good product from what I have read you just need a fall away rest and string loop.

What I cannot find any where even on FOBnation is the accuracy with BH's at distances beyond 30 yards.

www.starrflight.com is the main website for FOB's.  The 100 yard video on the home page is me shooting Magnus Stinger 4 blade broadheads in my field.  I've gotten a ton of crap about the quality of the video questioning the authenticity, but it is legit.  Even at more realistic hunting ranges of 40, 50, or 60 yards the FOB's just flat work great.  I've tested them every way from Sunday, and they always win or at least tie; then I add in no time spent fletching and instant field repair, and it's a no-brainer.

Here are some other videos that I had on hand:

The target-view videos are for the noise-worried folks.  The FOB's are the 2nd arrow in each video.  The fletchings in order are 4" vanes, FOB's, 4" feathers, 2" Blazers (if I remember correctly).

I'm still up in the air with these things.  Doing some more shooting with them today but only at 30 yards.  They fly great and are accurate.  My only problem so far is I like to shoot groups and I'll be damned if I didn't break another FOB today!  :chuckle:  I got to remember to aim at a differant spot each shot!   :bash:

They do mess with my anchor just a bit as they hit my chin and I have to turn my head a bit to get the string on the tip of my nose the way I like.

Also I found out you want to be damn sure your finger is out of the way.  I was messing with my grip and didn't notice that the nuckle of my index finger was above the shelf a bit and the FOB whacked my finger and took a chunk of skin off! :o  Damn that hurt!  My finger went numb for about 20 minutes.  Still hit right where I was aiming though!  :)

I hear accunocks help with the anchor point as they are a little longer so the FOB is a hair more forward.

Yeah, I bought some Accunocks and tried them.  Wasn't impressed.  The little inner nock that is supposed to push forward and come off the string with no friction seems to move back into position faster than the nock can clear the string and actually plucks the string.
