I bought a pair of nesting cat traps from Jim Comstock.  One is in the woods looking for Bob.  The other went in a culvert looking for a beaver. 
Land owner called yesterday and said I had an otter.  She weighed in at twelve pounds.  I'm a little surprised that she tripped the remaining wire.  I pulled all of the trip wires but the bottom one to give the cats more room to lean over the trigger before setting it off.  Originally planned to put this trap out in the woods but it fit the culvert and water level perfect.  The opening is 10 x 20 and the double doors are bifolds with locking rings.
She wasn't my target but I'm happy to have her.

What are the rules with using rubber jaw traps? Does it require a different permit? The common person can only use cage traps in this state correct lol.

Special trapping permit issued through WDFW for damage control.  Permit is good for 30 days.  Landowner pulls the permit and lists me as the trapper.
Conibear and rubber jaw footholds only on the permitted property.  Can't sell the fur on animals caught in BG traps (includes footholds).
I've been running some Conibears also.  I don't think those pictures are interesting enough to post up.  I like the rubber jaw footholds and how well they hold is interesting.  Thought I'd share.

I still skin them out and dry them.  Would really like to have them plucked, tanned and stitched up for a blanket.  Been putting the carcasses out for cat bait.

Super excited about otters today.  I have three comstocks set side by side in a wide channel.  These two were taken in adjacent traps. 

I only took a pair of beaver out of here.  They were both over 40 lbs.  The dam break below these traps has not been repaired.  I'm starting to move the cages up stream toward the next set of dams.
