Skyfire Kennels
« on: November 15, 2017, 09:03:35 AM »
Anyone ever bought a dog from this kennel? My buddy just picked up a pup from them, but the kennel owner didnt want them to pick it up from her property. It sent off red flags for me. He felt comfortable with it because he had seen her kennel 12 years ago. We got in a small argument over it so I'm just wondering what others have experienced with Skyfire.

Just looking at their website seems like they are doing all the health clearances and checks to breed sound dogs. Not my cup of tea for looks or pedigrees but to each his own.

Could be they had a reasonable reason for not wanting people on their property. Did your buddy say why they didn't want to meet at their place?

Could also be a reason for concern but that'd be up to the response I got from them as to why they didn't want me to see their place.

I know them pretty well. Good folks. Maybe they were concerned with parvo or disease being brought to their farm if they had a young pup litter or something. They breed show labs as far as I know unless something has changed.

This was the type of reasoning behind picking the puppy up off site. So far the pup looks healthy and full of energy. I guess my personal experience with various breeders has always been very different.

For those that commented, thanks.
