Well cut up my deer today,took some Backstrap and cooked up for dinner tonite ,man it's good when it's fresh. :tup:

Not fresh, but last night's main course was still amazing.  Douglas County mule deer backstrap medallions, marinated in rice vinegar, olive oil and spices.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Fry the bacon separate and then sear the meat in the bacon grease.  That's our new duck blind tradition and I'm sure it would be just as good with venison.

Rub that meat with a good amount of olive oil and a bit oh dry rub. Sear it good and cook with indirect heat. Watch that temp and please rest that meat. I do believe we will need a 2018 backstrap challenge thread!
