AR-10 Project-X
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:38:22 PM »
Just full length sized the first cases for Project-X. This is for a AR-10 assembly.

Parent case .308 Winchester on the right. ☠️Project-X☠️ left.

Think of it as bad A$$ supersonic and dwarfs the .300 Blackout subsonic.

No spilling the beans Yorke!

Hmm...sounds like a fun build...do tell. Spec's, who's building the barrel...that would be a fun round in an ar10 platform.

Can't wait to see it. You do great work, BH. I love mine.

I don’t remember signing a non-disclosure agreement.... :chuckle:

I think the only thing that matters here is that somebody finally found a use for the 308 win case!

I remember that being done in the 1970's/80's a fellow screwed a 375 Win Savage Brushgun barrel on a Savage 99 that was originally a 308 and opened the barrel to 375-08.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Everything's been done over the years. Fairly few new "Mouse traps".

A guy that is a vault of knowledge is Dave the owner of CH4D Tool & Die. He's been in the wildcat game forever. I don't care what combo you come up with. He can pull a print and tell you the first year it was done. Some of these popular wildcats kicking around today were tried many, many years ago.

No matter how crazy your cartridge. Quality custom dies for 89.00 a set. Incredibly well priced, considering I have paid  $375.00 for a custom set of dies from RCBS, of course that was before I found CH4D.

C&H is an incredible die company,  I needed dies for a long obsolete European caliber that wasn't very popular when it was current, factory loading was suspended in the 1930's.  It was a 6.5 straight taper case that used a .260 bullet.  C&H had the die set on the shelf AND the bullet swaging die.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
