Mountain goat mounts?
« on: December 05, 2017, 04:36:37 PM »
Anyone have pics of their goat mounts they want to share?

Feel free to share your full body mounts if you want because they're cool as heck, but I'm not doing one of those. I'm going to have Cedar River Taxidermy do a wall pedestal. Slight left turn with I think a small amount of rocks for habitat. Just looking for other ideas to make sure I'm covering my bases.

I googled them, lots of them there, I really like this one.

There are dozens and dozens of full body mounts, but I don't have the room or the wallet for one of them, so I'm doing a wall pedestal.

Specifically wondering about wall pedestals with some rock habitat. Not sure if I want Rick to add some rock or not to my mount. There are not a lot of them online.

Mine is just a plain old shoulder mount.  I got the back half tanned.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Am a huge fan of rock, brush or wood included in mounts, to me it creates a piece of art not just a head.  I understand it increases cost so always need to weigh the benefits.  Goodluck.

I agree Katmai.  I've been going with habitat mounts for all of my taxidermy.  In general I'm not a fan of head and shoulder mounts on goats but here is a pic of one worth emulating.
