Hey guys, on these bigger morels, preheat your oven to 425F. get a can of the crabmeat from WINCO for about $10. Also get some shredded mozzarella. Mix the crab with the mozz 2:1 and stuff the morels (easier if you cut out around the stem at the bottom). Brush them with melted butter, lightly salt them, and roast them for about 15-20 minutes. Let stand for a few minutes when they're done. You'll thank me in the morning.

Picked up close to 2000 between me and 3 other people in the last week. They are really coming up good in Idaho. Rain almost everyday and the nice temps are helping.

How do you guys preserve them?  Would vacuum sealing and freezing work?

I have had really good luck with dehydrating them and then freezing, for just in case. They come back really well by just soaking them for about a half hour to an hour in milk, water or chicken broth, depending on what I'm doing with them. They come back good enough to fry them up or what I've been doing lately chopping them up in a chopper gadget and using them in a cream sauce over pasta or rice.

I'm going camping just barely over on the dryside this weekend. Ill be taking 90 over with my wife and kidos. We plan to look around for morels one last time. Is this heat going to make things better  or will it terminate the season?
From the looks of it 4000 plus is where to look.

there should still be some decent picking at the higher elevations I would think. I'm not giving up yet. You might run into some coral or spring king boletus also.
