ElkNut Team- We Had Another Awesome Year!
«

Hey guys I've received a few PM's asking how we did this year in 2017! We did well, thanks! I figured instead of telling ones about it I'd just show photos! We took 9 bulls this year on DIY Public Land hunts, one was a WY draw area & the other 8 were OTC. We had a super fun get together as always, drank more than we should but what the hey we only do it once a year! (grin)
7 bulls are shown, one is a 5 point against the wall just out of sight & the 9th one is Larry's 5X6 bull, he couldn't make it but he was missed!
These are our last 3 years from the guys, 2015-2016-2017! Thanks for checking them out!

Thanks guys, it was a ton of fun & a lot of meat packing. I hope all you guys had great years too! Whether a bull was tagged or not it's all about the adventure & did you learn anything! (grin)

Ha Ha, thanks guys! Yes lots of barbecuing for sure! (grin)
Interesting note from this year in Idaho was we ran into more wolves than any other year, not sure why since they've been here a fair spell now? We do come across them every year but this year we all had stories about them, definitely more than the norm! Crazy year but we were still fortunate to put some elk down. Thanks!

Thank you! A couple years ago we started handing out an ElkNut Trophy to the guy that took the biggest (gross score bull) bull on OTC Public Lands.
Tyler won the Trophy this year so gets to keep it for a year, it's a nice Trophy & everyone tries winning it! (grin) He took a 315" bull to take it home, there was a close 2nd though at around 300".
What do you think of the Trophy? Here's a better view of his winning bull!

That is a cool trophy Paul. You should have some of those made up in different sizes to sell.

Thanks guys! Elk hunting is like anything else in life, you get out of it what you're willing to put into it! Lots of successful hunters here, I bet they will tell you the same thing! (grin) Takes a bit of Passion & persistence along with a bit of craziness to fill tags consistently! (grin)
