I am looking for some info on Burris Signature HD 8X42 Binoculars in 8X42. I have never heard anything bad about Burris and the two times I have looked thru a scope or binoculars have thought that they were very clear and sharp. We are looking for a  set that we can look at birds at 20 yards or some goats at 150 yards. I once met a couple of guys in south west Washington that were shooting at 850 yards and I got to watch them shoot with there Optics. They had a 8X binocular that they gave me and I could see everything very crisp and clear. I know they were Burris but I do not know the Model #. My kids and I would  like to get something that is brite and clear and remember that that those two guys  getting ready for fall bear in 560 had some good glass from Burris. So What are some good binoculars that are in the ball park of the Burris?

Burris optics are clear, bright, and well-made and based in Greeley, CO.
I will try to remember their top end binoculars

I’ll never own another item from Burris optics. They’re warranty and customer service is absolute garbage.
I had a pair of Burris signature select binos with the supposed forever warranty and they broke. Sent them in, Burris agreed it was a defect and then told me there was nothing they could do because Burris didnt make binos anymore at that point. They told me I could get 20% off msrp on Steiner binos.

Now it seems Burris is back in the bino game, hopefully their cs is a bit better now and they actually honor their warranty

I have a pair of Signature Selects in 12x50's. I have had them for about 8 yrs now and they are great for spotting Antelope far off.
Really great glass for the price. 

I've only used the warranty on them one time for some new rubber eye caps. I emailed Burris support asking if I could buy some new ones and after a couple emails back and forth with some pictures I had new rubber eye caps in like a week or so at no charge.

I have not had experience with the binoculars but I replaced my fullfield 2 scope struggling through some extreme fogging issues. Then after a year of so of uses the reticle busted loose so it's unusable as poi changes after each shot.

As far as binoculars, I have Leupold BX-3 pro guides. If you got some in this series you will be happy and it's in your price range.

Thank you everybody for the input you have gave to us. My daughter and I want to Cabelas on Sunday and we looked at the 10x Burris because they did not have the 8X. They looked ok inside the store. The power went out in the store and the emergency lights came on. I told the guy behind the counter what we were looking for and he was good. My daughter and I did not look at brand or price and the guy gave us a few brands that fit the 300-400 price range for 8X just like the Burris. After a couple of NiKon and Vortex models I found the one set I liked the best and it was the very same set my daughter liked. We did not look at model or price for what the guy gave us and we both picked the same binocular. The Nikon Monarch 5 was the best for how clear and bright the view was. We did not look at price or model number. So we bought these 8X42 monarch 5 and we went hiking on this last Sunday and I had them in my rain jacket as we hiked up Tiger Mountain. I sweat a lot and when we found some birds to look at and I pulled out the binoculars I thought they would fog up but they stayed clear and  crisp. I was impressed. It was cold and clear but they worked good. I would have to take them to long Island or to The mountains of the Bull Elk to give my seal of approval but over all so far they are good.

Nikon's MONARCH 5 bino's are an excellent choice. Clear, reliable,tough and backed by Nikon's No Fault Warranty. Plus, it's pretty tough to find a pair of bino's with that kind of quality for that price. You went about making your decision the right way. you looked through a bunch of bino's and bought the ones you liked the best. At the end of the day that is what I tell everyone to do. Buy what you think works best for your eyes/needs.

I would like to add that because the power went out at the store we had poor lighting when the backup lights came on. When we picked out a subject in the dark area of the store some of the binoculars we checked out did not look very good. In the lighted areas they all looked ok. I am glade I took somebody else with me to look at binoculars so I would not get hung up on just one brand or size.
