ATV/UTV for utility work opinions

I have been interested in a ATV/UTV for use around the property.
Admitting I know little about them, so I am looking for opinions on utility type vehicles that do not break the bank that would work well on a farm or large property.

I am not talking about a top of the line 60+MPH with knobby tires and designer graphics, LOL

We bought one at work about ten or fifteen years ago made by bobcat with a dump bed. It's not flashy and it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it is diesel, never gets stuck, and doesn't break down. It retired to my old mans house in eastern wa and he loves it on his property.

My FIL has a motorcycle track in central OR and is on his second Kawasaki Mule (similar to the SX 4x4) in about 8 years. He runs the piss out of these things and beats on them pretty hard. They get a couple hundred hours a year put on them running some pretty rough trail. They sound like crap but run very well and take a beating. Even though he was a motorcycle mech for 30 years, he does not spend (nor need to) any time working on the Mule. They are nice to tow with and are easy to get in and out of, bed will carry 1/2 ton, power is reasonable, and 4wd locks up well. Also very fuel economical.

One I was looking at was the Kawasaki Mule 610 4x4. They seem to be pretty popular around here?

Kawas are incredibly reliable and tough.  Teryx is great if looking for lil more sport then Mule.

The Honda line is the crossover style mixing pleasure and work.  Front seat is a bench and it has a dump bed.  Great rigs but pricey.  I bought mine for work and play and couldn't be happier.

Agree....have the Viking VI Ranch Edition, six seats and belts.  Awesome machine and plenty of power to pull implements, carry cargo, passengers etc.

Arctic cats are not that popular and thus less expensive for comparable models.
I've had a 1 lung 650 Cat ATV for almost 10 years now.
It's been trail ridden a fair amount out hunting, drug a mower deck on 5 acres for about 5 years straight, took to AK and among other things floated it upside down down a river......kids ride it, have rolled it a couple times, winched down a lot of trees, chained up 2 winters in AK plowing a 4wd only driveway.  Think it's got a couple thousand miles at least, lower miles high hours from mowing.
Few to no repairs other than self inflicted stuff like ripped a cv boot, rolled over and hydro locked (engine was fine after about 8 oil changes).
It's not as tight or cushy as a Bombardier or Polaris, but it's proven tough.
All 4 rims are bent but still holding air, not sure how, Have done nothing but basic maintenance.
Gauge didn't work quite right for a couple years after floating it down the Knik River, but now it does again.
Only real problem is the ignition switch developed a short in it recently. $30 fix.
