New Quad

Ok, the truth is I'm tired of chasing cows on foot! Looked at some new quads today,  , they sure are proud of them! But they sure are purdy! The only one that came close to my price point , was Can-Am. Now this is a brand I'm not familiar with, and was wanting some input from you all on this brand. If you have another suggestion on brands, I'm all ears. What I'm looking for is 4x4, automatic, power steering, this will be a farm rig, so a big monster is not needed, I was thinking in the 350-450 size range. Thanks in advance

Personally I'd like at an older Honda Foreman.  They just keep working year after year.

Honda, Yamaha, Kawa.  420 Honda might be good choice for ya?  Prairie is cheap n simple n tough.

You can look back all the way to 2006 to find something with power steering. I think the Yamaha Grizzly was the first.

I bought a Polaris 450 a couple of months ago.  Seems like a nice little quad for the money and I can close my tailgate on it.

Can Am and never look back!  Get more power than you think you will need!!!  I have a Can Am 1000 V-Twin but not everybody needs that big of one..

With the name change from arctic cat to textron i have been seeing some good deals on new textron machines trying to get the name built up.

just outta curiosity why not a side by side? you can get a Honda pioneer 500 for same price as a quad, it can fit in the back of a truck, roof, steering wheel, cup holder, ect...

I have been looking and have noted that many 2-4 year old machines are about 60-70% of new price. Many with very low hours and cool add ons. I am looking at 400-420 cc Honda four wheel drive, power steering is good. They come in several names.

Owned quite a few quads and will never buy another brand new one.  There are tons of lightly used ones out there for sale and most are indestructible .  Right now own a 03 Honda Foreman and a 04 Honda Rancher and have never had a issue and they get the *censored* beat out of them.  Out of the seven Hondas our group have owned since 2002 we have only had one mechanical issue and it was a small electrical box that cost about $75.  Its real easy to tell if a quad has been beaten or taken care of just by looking at them.

Already have one, but SHE gets that on the cow round up. Im stuck on foot usually bird dogging, in place a sxs cant get, but a quad would do nicely.

I use a Yamaha Grizzly to chase cows.  I don't want anymore weight that this thing is, it's nice to have the grunt to lift the front a bit to hop logs so I want the instant torque a big single gives me, and if I gotta get off and push it's not so pig heavy I can't man handle it over a log.  Cows as you know tend to want to go hide when you chase em they head for the thick stuff. 

I've done a lot of cow chasing, foot, horse and ATV, haven't found anything better than a grizz for an ATV.

And Cat or Textron still hasn't changed the models for 10 years plus now. They're so far behind the curve for quads it's not even funny. They better be cheap!
That said I have a "cheap" 10 year old Cat 650 one lunger quad that's been run through some _____. Just posted about it in another thread. Never occurred to brag about it until this weekend when the kids were running a hill flinging baseball size rocks like it was still new!  They leave a bit to be desired from a tech standpoint but it's been rock solid
