Get there early for a spot.  Tons of fish so you should do well.  We were going to go but have a t-ball game.
Says the gate opens at 6:30, curious if it is the one right on 101?
Seems like it could cause some traffic issues if there is a line...
We'll be there early, just usually like to find a spot to try to get set up.
Is there a deep end, or general direction to head upon arrival?

I've only done it once, but found a spot we could access the lake next to the road leading to the launch.  Lots of people fish in the area around the launch.  Everyone seemed to catch plenty of fish.  We just fished with power bait and did fine.

deep end is just past the boat launch, there is an earthen dam and that area is 20+ feet deep.  when i used to fish it, i'd set up on the dam or walk past it into the woods, there are a couple openings where you can fish easily from.

the area along the road heading to the launch isn't much more than 3 feet deep, but i've done well fishing there.  a pair of hip boots or waders might be helpful as it's kind of brushy.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
