Serving unraveling
« on: April 30, 2018, 11:59:25 PM »
I have a Martin afflictor, the sting serving is coming undone where it rides in the cam groove. The channel in the groove is to narrow for serving they used. I've got less than a hundred shots on the string and it shows no signs of stretch or wear. Looking for advice on whether I should find a place that will re-serve with halo serving or order a new string.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Depends on where it is starting to unravel.  If it starts anywhere off the cam then a dab of superglue would keep it from getting worse.

who built the strings? I would take the string back and ask for new.

There are several builders in the $100 range that offer quality strings at good prices and stand behind their product. No reason you should have any serving separation

It's a factory string, I be believe hammerhead is what they is used. It's out of my hands took it in to a shop a week ago. The owner is going too re-serve the string and see what happens.
