Newbie loading question

I’m completely new to muzzleloading and I’m not clear on whether or not you need to use a tip on the end of the ramrod to seat the bullet.  I picked up some Barnes TMZ bullets and also their aligner tip for the bullet starter.  Will the ramrod without the tip deform the plastic tip on the bullet?

Maybe, maybe not,  just depends on the shape of what you have.   I shot a ton of Barnes and just finished my load developement.   Barnes has a racket going with that advertising claim.  A knight jag, Spin Jag , Lehigh Jag, TC Super Jag all fit that bullet shape.  I even tried some others and did not see any deformation only some markings.  If you really hammered on it of course it will deform.
