Well evidently WDFW wanted to add salt in the wound. They wanted me to see in person that I didn’t draw  :chuckle:

It was informative to hear the process and get an understanding on why it takes them the amount of time it does. From the mandatory reporting to commissioner meetings to having to address any questions or concerns and then correcting any errors by us the applicants.
Did you get the feeling they work their butts off to get it right?  I certainly did after I witnessed.  And I know how you feel, one of the times I went was when my wife drew the rifle rut elk tag and I was the first looser for my elk tag!

Perhaps someday the rest of us can / will be informed.  This common wealth guy doesn’t understand.  The lack of transparency, today’s technology, etc. is just mind boggling to me that we’re now being notified at one of the latest dates in recent (past 6-7 years now) history.  Hope someday to undestand how this process is so difficult and time consuming.

Yes. I walked away feeling a lot better about their process and why it takes the time it does. She said they would have had it ran on the 13th but had the legislative mandate to implement the veteran donation option on the system.

My tradition is to wait till I get home from work and have about a 10 second pour of whiskey or two, then check results. This delay really is depressing, all day now I’ll have to wait !  Or drink on the job?!
So just like my tradition. I think i am going hold out tomorrow and keep my tradition alive. But i do get off work at 1:30 so it shouldnt be to hard. I will just look at what everyone else drew throughout the day

Ill wait as well but I won’t get home till 5:30, then about 28 minutes to get my buzz on! Going to be a long day!  But it is my Friday tomorrow so maybe that’s a good thing when I draw my sheep tag?!!
Well good luck. I will have an early drink for ya

Out of curiousity how do they pick a witness? Also how long before the draw did you know you were picked?

I believe it will be one of the options when you are buying something off the site where it asks if you want to donate....but that’s just a guess.

I think I was an extra “witness”. I was called and asked yesterday.

Currently it’s an addition to the web site that is used to aid and assist WDFW fund disabled veteran based hunting and fishing opportunities at a discounted rate beyond what is currently in affect. All this additional revenue through public donation will be managed to support WACS that are current and future legislation. There are programs that are being looked at by the state legislature. In fact I have a meeting on July 16th at the capital building to discuss more veteran hunting programs. Wish I could say more but until we get the initiatives finalized I don’t want to spread false info
