Antler wreath
«

A friend of mine made an antler wreath out of whitetail sheds. In order for it to bolt together right, he had to use antlers that were all 3-points of similar size. He's thinking of making more and selling them. It would look good as a setting on a table, or made into a chandelier, or a picture frame, or what ever....What do you think an antler wreath is worth?

Rob, A good way to find out what it's worth would be to put one on eBay and see what it goes for. I'm not sure but I think he might actually get more money by selling the antlers individually.

I guess that I was thinking that the antler chandeliers (antlers put together as a unit) brought a better price than individual antlers. I'm not sure, just wondering. Ebay is the best option for sure.

I'm not sure how I missed this post the first time. I'm not sure how to put a price on something like that. Some folks payoutrageous prices for cabin stuff. Bobcat is right, ebay would be your best price guide.

We have discussed Ebay and am wondering what reserve might be reasonable. What do you think?

If it was me I think I'd take my chances and put it up without any reserve. With no reserve you get more people bidding, and sometimes they go crazy at the end, and just lose their minds trying to outbid each other, no longer caring about getting a good deal but just wanting to "win."
Just be sure to put some good pictures up and a good description so people know exactly what they're bidding on.

That friend of mine has boxes and boxes of shed deer and moose antlers. We have been talking about different ways of making things with them. That website has alot of good ideas for antlers. Thanks Bob.

I have a friends Dad that has basically retired, and all he does is antler stuff. He makes a pretty good living at it. He buys all of his antlers though which would cut ino the profit margin a bit. I myself couldn't stand to sell an antler. I did it once on e-bay and haven't felt right since. I figure I'll put my girls through college with my antler pile. heheheheeeee

Figure this: A matched set of 3 point went for 150 bucks a couple of years ago. A tight Scottish friend saw that and was literally combing his property in Elk, WA for matched sets.
