3:20 am coyote
« on: July 16, 2018, 07:34:43 PM »
Sleeping with the slider open I was woke up by a fawn in distress. I grabbed my flashlight 1000 lumens LED, and saw 2 sets of eyes across my back yard on the hill, looked like yotes. I could hear the deer running through my field below the house. I ran and grabbed my 7mm rem. Mag. Holding the flashlight and the forend leaning on the slider door frame I could see the yote plan as day. Took him out and went for the second one but he ran. At day light I went up to see it and take him up away from the house. Big male, I shot 5 pups so far and this one adult. The fawn will live for now. Lots of yotes around this year.

I bought a red light that mounts on my scope after asking on here last year. It really works. The coyotes don’t see it and I got a bunch before they got smart. The den behind the neighbor’s was quiet this year.

This is the first time they stuck around after I shined the light on them let alone stay when I grabbed my gun and aired one out.

They don’t see the red light. They have no idea you are even there and carry on with whatever they are doing. It was crazy to watch through the scope the first time or two.
