I don't know if this will have any impact one way or another at this point, but I have to wonder if he left a part of his fortune to gun control interests?

I heard a piece on NPR the other day, they had the founder of the bill and a gun instructor debating it.  The female gun instructor did a pretty decent job poking holes in it and actually got the other guy to admit the bill's language doesn't match what the intent was.  The instructor didn't go into much detail on some of the major flaws, probably a balancing act for a listener base that isn't much into the technical aspects of guns.  It sounded pretty clear the bill was drafted without any input from anyone that understands the unintended consequences - par for the course looking at the last bill that passed.

That doesn’t surprise me. Most of the bills are written without thought or with something in there to trick the people. Peole need to start getting more involved in the voting. Know what’s going on

So with this initiative being one that is a 100% "NO" vote- I haven't read it and this may have already been covered, but would it affect those who already own semi-automatic rifles? To legally possess these "assault rifles," would the training course be required? Any other requirements?

I see this creating a whole lot of new criminals, as I doubt many will comply with this new law, if it does pass.

If this passes I'm most likely moving, I'm just about done with all the liberal Washington baloney.

It will most likely pass

I voted on Saturday and Voted No on 1639 and nowhere in the wording on my ballot does it state that this law will ban the sale of semi auto rifles to 18-20 year old. that is flat out misleading on the ballot. We shouldn't have to do more research when the initiative in itself is misleading and unconstitutional . Plus why in world would people be able to vote on taking away fundamental rights, just flat wrong.

The new progressive liberals want to do anything they want to further their Anti-American agenda.
