Best Speed Loader
« on: September 16, 2018, 10:07:41 PM »
I cant take credit.  Found this on Youtube but did some changes.  Swab out with dryer sheet and allow more space on sides.  Works better than any speed loader I have tried.   Edit:  Well they worked on the bench at the range.   Have been doing lots of shooting as if hunting.....yeah they work but not as well as the old double ended tube.  Put a timer to it...and the tubes are faster so far under a little stress.   So now it looks like I will carry two tubes and these to refill them if needed.   Well so much for that idea in real world application.

I’m trying to see how that setup would be fast and accurate?

I put some pre-loaded speed loaders and caps in a bag and vacuum pack them for my hunts, but I don't see much speed there. I carry caps, powder charge and sabot in bino harness very fast to get to

These are the ones Ive used for at least 15 years, Bullet holder, starter, premeasured charge, spare cap all in one. Powder stays dry. I put a cap in but usually use my capper because its easier.

I have gravitated to the CVA 4-in-1 Speed loader as of late.

But another loader that hold some promise is the new Knight Speed Loader

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Just tear each section open just like popping off the cap on a tube.  The plastic forms a nice tube for pouring the powder.  Same for the bullet and primer.  I have been comparing and its just as fast to load.  As far as working better is because it easily takes up less than half the space, wont pop open, and 100% weather proof.  Accurate?  Not sure what you mean?   You have a measured powder charge, your specific projectile, and your primer all in in one package.

May not be what works for you, but I am willing to try things in hopes of a better way.  I just put out the info and maybe it will help and maybe it won't.

Yes, I just make sure my edge seal is double width then cut half way into it.  I also mark the cut with a magic marker so I know exactly where it is.  Tears across perfectly flat with almost no effort.  Also leave the powder cavity a little longer as it allows a nice tube for pouring by just squeezing the edges.

paper cartridge, just bite the end off and load:

I've been carrying this one around for several years.  Time to roll some new ones with 209s in them.
