Anyone do a youth pheasant at a release site?
« on: September 24, 2018, 07:05:32 AM »
I took a kid to Fishtrap.  Prior years with my kid proved fast easy limits.  I appeared it was not planted at all.  Anyone have similar lack of results?

We did get a couple of wild birds on a plan B?

I am Just curious.  I have lot of criticism for WDFW, but not on youth weekend(s) I think they always did it right with lot of dumb birds.... but my dog never got remotely hot at Fishtrap, never saw a feather in the road, no stray that fell out of the cages, no coyote killed feather piles, and no shots heard.

I helped out at the Pheasants Forever hunt at Gloyd Seeps on Saturday.  I saw kids just as hyper as a young pup on opening day.

check the Columbia Basin - Pheasants Forever facebook page later today and photos from the event should be up.  I sent them to the director this morning but since he's still working for a living, it may take a bit for him to upload them.

Went big flat for a brief 30 minutes in the morning on Saturday. Didn’t hear any shots. My dog pointed one hen. 30 minutes wasn’t much time admittedly.
