Has anybody used bloodline 250grain sabots for elk ive had poor luck with hornady sst was recommended bloodline
Just my thoughts... certainly the 250 Bloodline can harvest an elk! and I am sure someone has done it. My only concern would be the range at which you might shoot. I totally prefer the .458-300 for elk hunting, but I am also planning on having more bullet than I probably would need. In that I mean I want a bullet that would allow me to shoot 200 yards and have enough accuracy, energy, and terminal performance to insure a clean harvest.
These two ballistic tables could possibly show you the ballistic difference of the two bullets.
First the 250 grain bullet.... this sheet was computed for a .452x250 grain Speer Gold Dot - not a Bloodline but the numbers would be very close in either bullet including the BC.

This is a the computed sheet for the .458x300 Bloodline

Hope this shows you what you might need to know...
